SUMMARY:UIA 2026 Gala
DESCRIPTION:United Israel and Australia – One People. One Heart. Standing Together.\nWith pride\, we announce our headline speaker – Ron Dermer\, Former Minister of Strategic Affairs of Israel and one of the most influential figures in shaping Israel-U.S. relations over the past decade. \nDermer has long been viewed as the key insider conduit between the Israeli and U.S. administrations—shaping Israel’s foreign policy over the past decade more than perhaps any other individual. He played a pivotal role in aligning Israeli–U.S. policy\, serving as the only Israeli official in the room with President Trump during discussions on post-war plans for Gaza\, and was instrumental in accelerating the path toward the Abraham Accords. Most critically\, in 2025 he was entrusted with leading Israel’s negotiations for the release of hostages—one of the most sensitive\, morally complex\, and consequential missions facing the country. It is therefore fitting that Dermer joins us at this historic moment of collective rebuilding\, as Israel looks toward securing its future. \nJoining Dermer is Michal Uziyahu – Mayor of the Eshkol Regional Council. Michal is no stranger to UIA\, visiting immediately after October 7 to urgently call for support for her devastated communities – enabling critical rehabilitation and community resilience programs on the ground. Michal returns to share firsthand how UIA’s support helped her region begin to heal and how ironically Israel now is able to ‘give back’ and support our community\, as well as why the rest of Israel now needs that same unwavering commitment as the nation enters its long-term rebuilding. \nWHEN\nThursday 26 February \n6:30pm Doors open\n7:15pm Formalities commence \nWHERE\nVenue to be advised a few days prior to the event \nCOST\n$36 Earlybird until 5 February and then $54. \nTickets are non transferable and non refundable. \nThis is a fundraising event. The ticket cost is not a donation. Funds raised at this event will enable United Israel Appeal (UIA) to continue its 105-year mission.
